Every successful journey begins with a solid foundation. At The BASE Otero, we work to provide that foundation by surrounding our young people with caring adults, positive relationships, educational opportunities, encouragement, structure, and experiences that help them grow.

Children need spaces where they feel physically and emotionally safe. They need places where they are known by name, welcomed with a smile, encouraged when they struggle, and celebrated when they succeed.

For families in Alamogordo and throughout our community, The BASE Otero strives to be that place.

During those important hours outside of the traditional school day, our young people have an opportunity to learn, play, build friendships, receive support, explore their interests, and simply be kids in a positive and nurturing environment.

Our goal is not simply to keep children occupied until someone picks them up. We want to expose them to possibilities.
